One should not speak ill of the dead, the Prophet Muhammad once intoned. But Mahmoud al-Zahar, 64, the leader of the Islamist Hamas movement in Gaza Strip, is now forced to make a small exception. Sitting on the ground floor of his home in Gaza City's Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, he talks about his comrade Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, who was liquidated by a hit squad in a Dubai hotel on Jan. 20. How could al-Mabhouh have been so careless and booked his flights over the Internet, asks the co-founder of Hamas? "That was more than stupid."

Shortly after al-Mabhouh's death, when Hamas leaders began pointing the finger at Israel, many observers wrote it off as just another Middle East conspiracy theory. But following revelations by police in Dubai as well as their own investigations, governments in the West have little doubt that this was a Mossad hit.

Last week, the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND), Germany's foreign intelligence agency, told members of the German parliament, the Bundestag, that Mossad was apparently behind the Dubai operation.

This is also now an open secret in Israel, despite military censorship. A number of Israelis have identified acquaintances from the photos released of the 26 suspects who are thought to be involved in the operation. Karmel Shama, a member of parliament in the center-right Likud Party, even stood before the Knesset and praised the killing as a mitzvah, a religious commandment, adding that Mossad chief Meir Dagan had done "good work."

Government a ‘threat to rights and freedoms,' majority says

A majority of Americans believe that the federal government is "an immediate threat to the rights and freedoms of ordinary citizens," a new poll suggests.

According to a poll conducted for CNN, 56 percent believe the federal government has grown so large and powerful that it poses a risk to rights and freedoms, while 44 percent disagree.

If accurate, it would suggest that anti-government sentiment in the US is not confined to Tea Partiers or libertarians, as neither of those movements enjoy similar levels of support.

But the poll does indicate that those on the right are more likely to see government as a threat than those on the left. While nearly 70 percent of self-identified Republicans and 63 percent of independents view the government as a threat, only 36 percent of self-identified Democrats do.

This is the second CNN poll in less than a week to suggest deep antagonism to -- or at least disappointment with -- the federal government. A poll earlier this week found that 86 percent believe the federal government is "broken."

However, the widespread discontent with government isn't stopping some commentators from interpreting the poll results through a partisan perspective. "Poll: 56% are tea-baggers," states a headline at DailyMail.com.

The poll results "shouldn't surprise anybody," writes Matthew Givens, a former Alabama Libertarian Party official and Ron Paul supporter. "Because of recent actions taken by our government, fewer and fewer people actually believe it cares about protecting our rights."

But concerns about government intrusion on rights and freedoms have not been limited to the right wing. In the post-9/11 era, many left-wing politicians raised concerns about the expansion of government power through the Patriot Act and other anti-terror measures. Many on the left were also alarmed by the Bush administration's eagerness to expand US military power and engage in conflicts abroad.

In a respected and scholarly magazine of Jewish intellectuals, (The
Jewish Quarterly, winter 2004) Jewish professor Nathan Abrams, Jewish Professor of American History at Aberdeen University in UK, in an
article titled, "Triple Exthnics," proudly documents the leading role
of Gentile-hating Jews in pornography.

"A story little told is that of Jews in Hollywood's seedier cousin,
the adult film industry. Perhaps we'd prefer that the 'triple
exthnics' didn't exist, but there's no getting away from the fact
that secular Jews played (and still continue to play) a
disproportionate role throughout the adult film industry in America.
Jewish involvement in pornography has a long history in the United
States, as Jews have helped transform a fringe subculture into what
has become a primary constituent of Americana. These are the 'true
blue' Jews. Jewish activity in the porn industry divides into two
(sometimes overlapping) groups: pornographers and performers. Though
Jews make up only two per cent of the American population, they have
been prominent in pornography. In the postwar era, America's most
notorious pornographer was Reuben Sturman, the 'Walt Disney of Porn'.
According to the US Department of Justice, throughout the 1970s
Sturman controlled most of the pornography circulating in the
country. . It was said that Sturman did not simply control the adult-
entertainment industry; he was the industry. Many are entirely
secular, Jews in name only. Sturman, however, identified as a Jew -
he was a generous donator to Jewish charities."

Abrams shows how the corruption and debasement of Gentiles and
Christian morality is a primary part of their motivation for
intentionally infecting the Gentile community with pornography.

Opposition to Jewish extremist subversion of Gentile, Christian or
Muslim morality is frequently defined as anti-Semitic "hatred" in the
Jewish dominated media. Abrams writing in a Jewish journal for a
presumably Jewish audience writes matter-of-factly about the
"atavistic hatred" against us by Jewish pornographers and their
motivation to "weaken the dominant culture in America by moral
subversion."

"Jewish involvement in porn, by this argument, is the result of an
atavistic hatred of Christian authority: they are trying to weaken
the dominant culture in America by moral subversion. Astir remembers
having "to run or fight for it in grammar school because I was a Jew.
It could very well be that part of my porn career is an 'up yours' to
these people." '

Obviously, there are no articles in the mainstream media exposing
Jewish "atavistic hatred" against Gentiles by the promoters of
pornographic depravity. Abrams even goes on to talk about the roots
of this revolutionary Jewish attack on European values.

" Jews were also at the vanguard of the sexual revolution of the
1960s. Wilhelm Reich, Herbert Marcuse and Paul Goodman replaced Marx,
Trotsky and Lenin as required revolutionary reading. . Pacheco was
one Jewish porn star who read Reich's intellectual marriage of Freud
and Marx. In light of the relatively tolerant Jewish view of sex, why
are we ashamed of the Jewish role in the porn industry? We might not
like it, but the Jewish role in this field has been significant and
it is about time it was written about seriously."

Notice that all those mentioned: Reich, Marcuse, Goodman, Marx,
Trotsky, Lenin and Freud are Jews. From Freud to Goodman, all
represent a Jewish revolution against traditional European values and
morality.

When sick Jewish pornographers are part of the brutality of Jewish
organized crime, the results can obviously be horrifically tragic for
our people. In 2000, a Jewish "Russian" organized crime ring was
uncovered that specialized in kidnapping Russian children, some as
young as two years old, from parks and orphanages and then subjecting
them to rape, torture and murder, all on video tape. These tapes were
sold to thousands of Jewish and Gentile perverts all over the world.
When police in Italy were frustrated by lack of action by the
authorities they released some of the video footage to an Italian
network which then showed some of the graphic images hoping to cause
public outrage. Instead of outrage against the Jewish murderers the
TV producers suffered outrage for showing the disturbing images.

In spite of the horror and obvious newsworthiness of this
international Jewish child porn/murder operation, it received little
coverage in the media in the United States. When Seth Bekenstein, the
ring's American distributor was arrested, there was little publicity,
and in spite of being a part of one of the most horrific criminal
activities imaginable, he was sentenced to only 18 months on guilty
plea.

Porn is no longer 1950s pictures of voluptuous nude women on a
deserted beach. It has become permeated with sadism, masochism,
scatology, even sexual molestation, rape and murder of young
children. I am no prude. I love the beauty of the human body. But, I
do think that this kind of sick criminal activity, in which there is
so much exploitation, so much degradation, so much catering to the
depths of human depravity, should be fought with constitutional law.

Ironically, with Jewish influence over media, societal mores, and
government today, it is legal, even chic to make and sell the sickest
pornography showing the sick defilement of women. But, if you have
unacceptable political opinions about Jewish supremacism, you may
find yourself a political and social pariah, or at worst in prison.
We live in a Zionist world where often the sickest porn is legal
while political incorrect opinions will land you in prison.

"Am Morgen vom 16. Februar (1945) besetzte ein russischer Abstand den RAD (Reichsarbeitsdienst) Lager Vilmsee nahe Neustettin. Der Kommissar sagte mir in der guten Deutschen Sprache, dass das Lager aufgelöst wurde, und dass wir, als eine Einheit mit Uniformen (RAD - deutsche Labour Party Dienst, nicht militärische Uniformen), würde zu einem Sammlungslager transportiert. Der Kommissar leitete mich dann, um zuzusehen, wie man sissies aus 'Der Master-Rasse' macht.

Jetzt gingen zwei Pole, gekleidet in Hosen nur, ins Zimmer ein. An ihrem Anblick schrien die Mädchen auf. Lebhaft griffen sie das erste von den zwei Mädchen und bogen sie mit ihrem Rücken über den Rand des Tisches bis zu ihren geknackten Gelenken. Ich fiel fast in Ohnmacht, als einer der Männer sein Messer zog und ihren rechten Busen in Anwesenheit von den anderen Mädchen abschnitt. Die anderen drei Mädchen wurden völlig gebrochen, schrien nach ihren Müttern und baten um einen schnellen Tod, sondern auch Schicksal sie holte ein. Der Letzte der Mädchen war noch ein halbes Kind mit kaum entwickelten Busen; man riss das Fleisch wörtlich von ihren Rippen, bis der weiße Knochen erschien. Wieder wurden fünf Mädchen darin gebracht. Dieses Mal hatten sie vorsichtig ausgewählt.

Alle wurden entwickelt und ziemlich. Als sie die Körper ihrer Vorgänger sahen, begannen sie, zu schreien und zu schreien. In ihrem Entsetzen waren alle in ihren Ausdrücken gleich. Das war immer dasselbe; das Bitten für die Gnade, der hohe Schrei, als ihre Busen geschnitten wurden und ihre Geschlechtsorgane, verstümmelt. Mehrere Male wurde das Schlachten unterbrochen, um das Blut zu kehren und die Leichname zu beseitigen.

Germany Vows to Keep Hitler Out of Print

MUNICH - In Germany, an author is granted an ironclad copyright for 70 years after his death, apparently even if he is subsequently regarded as one of the greatest mass murderers in history and a dark stain on the national character.

Hitler's copyright on "Mein Kampf," in the hands of the Bavarian government since the end of the Nazi regime, has long been used to keep his inflammatory manifesto off the shelves in Germany. But with the expiration date looming in 2015, there is a developing showdown here over the first German publication of the book since the end of World War II.

Experts at the respected Institute of Contemporary History in Munich say they want to prepare a critical, annotated version of the book for release when the copyright expires 70 years after Hitler's suicide in his Berlin bunker.

"We hope to prevent neo-Nazi publications by putting out a commented, scholarly edition before that," said Edith Raim, a historian at the institute. "‘Mein Kampf' is one of the central texts if you want to explain National Socialism, and it hasn't been available in a commented edition at all in Germany."

But the Bavarian government opposed the idea, citing respect for victims of the Holocaust. In a statement Thursday, the Bavarian Finance Ministry said that permits for reprints would not be issued, at home or abroad. "This also applies to a new annotated edition," said the statement, adding that the state would use "all means at its disposal to proceed against any violations."

There was also disagreement as to whether the book might be banned as Nazi propaganda. The Bavarian government said that even after expiration of the copyright, "the dissemination of Nazi ideologies will remain prohibited in Germany and is punishable under the penal code."

But Ms. Raim said that diaries by prominent Nazis like Joseph Goebbels and Heinrich Himmler were already available.

Unofficial copies of "Mein Kampf" are easily accessible on the Internet already, and the book is legally published abroad, including in the United States.

Hitler wrote the book, which detailed his hatred of Jews, his desire for revenge against the French and the need for more space or "Lebensraum" in the east for Germans, while in Landsberg prison in Bavaria after the failed Beer Hall Putsch in 1923. The first volume of the book was published in 1925 and the second the next year.

More than 12 million copies of "Mein Kampf" were in circulation by 1945. The cities of Munich and Nuremberg, among others, gave it away to young couples as a wedding present, according to the Bavarian state library.

Stephan J. Kramer, secretary general of the Central Council of Jews in Germany in Berlin, said the publication of "Mein Kampf" continued to split the Jewish community in Germany, with many Holocaust survivors opposing its publication. "I have the highest respect for this opinion, but on the other hand I'm saying very openly: The copyright is going to be waived anyway. It's a matter of time before the book is available in shops and libraries," Mr. Kramer said.

Mr. Kramer said that with the book available on the Internet, it was important to have the work put in context by a responsible group like the Institute of Contemporary History. "Those who are already on the wrong side already have the book and already read it from their own point of view," he said. "Let's get it out there, and let's get it out there with a commentary."

Why Nationalism and National Socialism has failed in America

If there was ever a ripe environment in America for a Nationalist and a National Socialist revival, it is 2010. Yet America seems destined to continue its path of indentured servitude, slaves to corporate Jewish interests. This despite open publicity, even in what is called "mainstream" corporate media, of the rotten corporate schemes and trickery.

Everything from Madoff to political bribes made legal by what has been called "political deal making" has been reported, all the while every day Americans, have their homes foreclosed on, loose their jobs, their children go hungry. America today more resembles Weimar Germany than any other politician landscape, and in fact socialist policies are taking effect by way of incramentalism.

Unlike Weimar Germany, which played host to a multitude of rich and diverse political debate and gave birth to a rebirth of German Nationalism, America in 2010 sees no such hope of a rebirth of its National Pride. Quote the opposite, America continues to march down the road of Marxist Political Correctness. Socialist Policies, Social Engineering whereby Gay Values replaces family Values, where minorities may speak openly of pride in their culture and race, but Americans of Aryan decent are encouraged to cower in shame at their horrible creed ands culture. Tax policy is being structured where those who do not work will earn more than those who do not work and emigration means our Nation must conform to the norms and values of the new arrivals, thus it is America that assimilates to the emigrant and not the emigrant that becomes American. America has become the Sodom and Gomorra in terms of National Pride. The case model for success of Jewry's stated goals in the Protocols of Zion is America of 2010.

Why has Nationalism not taken root in America? Why has no Nationalist Party succeeded and why especially given that many of the policies that America was founded on and undertook in its founding, later became known as National Socialism in the 1920's and 30's.

There are and have been a host of so called nationalist and so called National Socialist Groups in America. In recent history, since the 1950's, the need for a strong Nationalist counter to Marxist Social Policy was desperately needed as the two major political parties essentially joined in re-wiring America into a Jewish dominated secular Nation, declared war on Christianity, declared the nuclear Family as "not needed" and said race and Culture was unimportant, unless you were a minority and have converted National pride into a near crime by way of political correctness. In the 1950's and 60's when apologists, collaborationists, and self-hating Americans embarked on their journey to destroy what had been a Christian, Western, European America, Nationalist Groups allowed themselves to be defined and failed to organize effectively and to educate themselves and to use the tools at their disposal.

Today, Nationalist Groups are mainly plagued with credibility, motivation, organizational, educational, moral, and cultural issues. Today's so called Nationalist and especially National Socialist Groups, are little more than street or prison gangs jockeying for turf, dues, or sales of trinkets to their limited market. Many Entities claim to be the same, there are approximately five Aryan Nations Organizations, there are over 100 "Nationalist Entities", and there are no less than five active National Socialist entities, sadly all feeding on each other rather than promoting issues and policies for the American Family, preservation of Culture and new Economy. Some of these groups recruit directly from American prisons in the manner as Hispanic and black street gangs do, no doubt a tactic learned from their previously incarcerated members. Often these Groups spin this Policy by referring to these Prison based "members as "Political Prisoners, however more often than not these "Political Prisoners have been convicted of crimes against a person, sex crimes, and theft and burglary. This creates Membership unattractive to middle class families. These Groups have very limited depth and scope as to issues and their sole focus is rage about race, but in fact many are not themselves pure as to the race issue. Unlike Germany, America is not an Ethnic based Nation. There is no Ethnic American; no American Nationalist Group has satisfactorily addressed this issue. While there is a glaring answer, it has been largely ignored by Nationalist Groups in America, thus rendering these groups essentially White Separatists and NOT National Socialists.

Of additional deficiency are these Groups inability to develop a broad based political agenda on issues ranging from economics to social services to foreign policy. This inability leaves the average American to question whether these "screamers" are nothing more than hooligans and to ask how these people can govern void of any ideas. Most often today's Nationalist Groups feed on and attack each other and resort to battles of ego as to "seniority in the movement", yet no individual in the "movement" except David Duke, who was actually elected to office, can point to substantive success. While one prominent American National Socialist blog writer claims to have been the "first National Socialist Presidential Candidate", a review of the 2008 election shows that he withdrew from the race before any votes were ever cast, and his name never appeared on a single State ballot as a National Socialist candidate for President.

Most of today's so called Nationalist and National Socialist Groups feed on and attack each other by way of forums, blogs and news letters, while engaging in very little in no true political action or dialog. Some National Socialist Entities do attempt to engage the public, but their moral and character flaws undermine their credibility, while others use blogs to engage in rambling diatribes of personal opinion of how to be a "good National Socialist, however these diatribes bare little resemblance to true National Socialism and are void of significant and intellectually honest policy proposals or discussion. This leaves the general public to again wonder, can so called American National Socialist govern? Can they be taken seriously? Are they merely single issue entities? Until American Nationalist Entities begin to become broad based issue oriented Entities, they will continue to be marginal and be on the extreme fringe. Until today's National Socialist Entities become far more educated and cease the self cannibalism, they will continue to be seen as nothing more than "white trash", until American Nationals and National Socialist conform to the strict moral codes that they preach and was the foundation of original National Socialism, they will continue to struggle with hypocrisy, and until so called American National Socialists get off the streets and fully research the core principals of National Socialism, such as Culture and Law and Order, their actions will continue to be irreconcilable with what was and is real National Socialism. The NSDAP came to power in Germany through legal means, a cornerstone of their plat form was Law and Order and they never viewed Police and the Law as enemies, in fact on numerous occasions Adolf Hitler enlisted the Munich Municipal Police to remove rebellious SA who had taken over Brownhaus without authorization. Like wise with regard to culture, the music of the NSDAP was the likes of Wagner and Brahms, many of today's so called nationalist Entities blast degenerate heavy metal that erodes our Culture just as much as any Jewish degenerate music. One cannot reclaim our Nation, Folk and Culture by adopting the values and emulating our greatest enemy, sadly, many so called Nationalist and National Socialist entities not only emulate Jewish tactics, they emulate Jews themselves, in thought, word and deed, in both their personal and public lives. One must first live the National Socialist live and be committed to its World View before one can engage in National Socialist politics. Until a Nationalist/National Socialist Entity emerges that presents a broad base of issues and presents alternatives to today's issues related to the economy, social policy, crime, etc, Nationalism will continue to be marginalized. Until America's so called Nationalist Groups cease feeding on themselves, and thus acting as agents and proxies of those they say they despise, Nationalism will not be seen as nothing more than "white trash fighting it out in the cyber trailer park". Until so called Nationalists move from single issued emphasis to being able to articulate a broad array of issues in an intelligent manner absent of profanity laced conspiracy theory diatribes, American Nationalism will remain marginalized in the cyber space trailer park. Until Nationalist Entities refine their membership standards and recruit only those who can vote, they will continue to be viewed as little more than a street gang, and finally until American Nationalists are willing to walk the walk, there is no need to talk the talk.

When pressed, no INTELLECTUALLY HONEST history professor or economist will NOR CAN deny that Many of what is today coined "modern" and "progressive" labor policies, including the forty hour work week, overtime and holiday pay and others were first implemented in none other than National Socialist Germany

Substantial tariffs/taxes imposed on German goods abroad had sharply crippled Germany's ability to export products. Additionally, Germany was under mandates via the Treaty of Versailles to pay huge sums to the victors of World War I. Germany had paid out billions upon billions resulting in its national Treasury being bled dry thus being forced to seek recourse in enormous loans from the United States. In 2010, The United States is equally indebted to China as Germany was in the 1920's. This international debt completed Germany's destruction and in 1929 with the Wall Street Crash and the calling in of Germany's debt and the resulting financial crisis.

Germany was a Nation of 65 million people crushed under the unfair and immoral burdens of the Treaty of Versailles. It suffered industrial stagnation, by frightful unemployment, and by demoralizing misery by the entire people. International Jewry nearly destroyed this Nation that had given the world rich history and culture, much like what they have done to America since the 1960's.

To accomplish arguable the greatest economic and social recovery in history, the National Socialist German Workers Party would need to reestablish the balance of the social classes within the context of a renewed National Community and free the German Nation from foreign influences (Jewry), and restructure its geographic unity. This is what America must do in 2010.

In the eyes of hyper- capitalists, money is the sole active element of a nation's economy. National Socialism's way of thinking is that conception is radically wrong, capital, to the contrary, is only an instrument. Work is the essential element: a person's endeavor, person's honor, blood, muscles and soul is the essential element to the National economy.

National Socialists seeks to not just to put an end to the class struggle, but to reestablish the priority of the person, in justice and respect, as the principal factor in production.

"The people," Adolf Hitler declared, "were not put here on earth for the sake of the economy, and the economy doesn't exist for the sake of capital. On the contrary, capital is meant to serve the economy, and the economy in turn to serve the people."

Gustav Stresemann, the former German Chancellor, as he was dying, was the only Weimar leader who seriously attempted to end the foreign influences over the Germany. No politician had ever spoken of the rights of workers with such faith and such force, or had laid out in such clear terms the social plan he pledged to carry out on behalf of the common people.

National Socialists presents labor as the true and real source of national wealth.

National Socialism's tremendous social achievement in putting Germany's six million unemployed workers back to work is rarely acknowledged today. National Socialist economic policy threatens today's plutocratic hyper-capitalist system, which in 2010 has showed itself to be a corrupt failure. National Socialist economic policy rests in and derives its strength from the National Community (People). German reconstruction after World War II is heralded as a miracle, but it was paid for by the U.S. Marshall Plan, (foreign interests/U.S. Tax Dollars) while the true German Miracle is the German National Socialist economic recovery of 1933-1936. By comparison, the U.S. economy never recovered until its entry into World War II, the New Deal by every measurable objective was a failure while National Socialism was an overwhelming success inside of 4 years. Although it was much more than a transitory achievement, "democratic" historians routinely dismiss it in just a few lines. Since 1945, not a single intellectually honest study has been devoted to this highly significant and unprecedented, historical economic achievement has been completed. The NSALP will publish a comprehensive book about the 1933-1936 National Socialist Economic Recovery, slated for January of 2011.

Equally unreported are the significant reforms that dramatically changed the condition of the worker in Germany and were implemented elsewhere in the world and remain in place in 2010. Unsafe factories in Germany were transformed to spacious and healthy work environments, with natural lighting complete with gardens and playing fields for worker recreation. Hundreds of thousands of employee houses were constructed for working class families, thus creating new home ownership while creating new jobs. This was first true modern program of employee provided housing. A policy of several weeks of employer paid vacation was introduced along with weekend and holiday trips by land and sea (cruises). Wide-ranging programs of physical and cultural education for younger workers were established with the world's best system of technical trade schools, something still not in place in the United States today. The German social security and workers' health insurance system implemented by National Socialism was the world's first and most modern and complete system, which still exists today, while America's system is essentially bankrupt.

The National Socialist record of social achievement is purposefully ignored in today's Schools, Colleges, and Universities because it would be inconsistent with propaganda that has been promulgated since World War II that everything National Socialist is evil. The fact is the great majority of German's who lived under National Socialism know otherwise. If readers were presented all facts, free of emotion and over simplifications, people may demand another look at National Socialism as a political alternative for today's issues.

Because National Socialism's programs of social reform were an essential part of the National Socialist political program, a realization of this fact might induce people to view National Socialism with new eyes. It is not surprisingly that all of this is ignored by design, kept in silence, or discounted and criticized by many so called works of academic research that have not bothered to look at the real history. . Politically correct historians insist on treating, National Socialism, and Germany for that matter, simplistically, as part of the politically correct play of good versus evil.

Facts speak for themselves, restoring work and food to millions of unemployed people who had been living in misery , as millions of Americans are in 2010, and restructuring industrial life, as America must do in 2010 if it is to survive, conceiving and establishing an organization for the effective defense and betterment of the nation's millions of wage earners, which America must do in 2010 if it is to survive, and creating a new bureaucracy and justice system that guaranteed the civic rights of each member of the national community, while simultaneously holding each person to his or her responsibilities as a German citizen: this organic body of reforms was part of a single, comprehensive plan, which National Socialists had developed and worked out years earlier.

Generous loans, amortizable in ten years, were granted to newly married couples so they could buy their own home, absent of Jewish usury. (Jewish usury was a direct result of the sub-prime loan industry that melted down the U.S. Housing Market, banking System, and Economy). At the birth of each child, a fourth of the debt was cancelled. Four children, at the normal rate of a new arrival every two and a half years, sufficed to cancel the entire loan debt.

Equally effective social measures were taken on behalf of German farmers, who had the lowest incomes. In 1933, 17,611 new farm houses were built, each of them surrounded by a parcel of land one thousand square meters. Within three years, the National Socialist Government would build 91,000 such farmhouses. The rental for such dwellings could not legally exceed a modest share of the farmer's income. This unprecedented endowment of land and housing was only one element of a National Socialist Political Revolution that very quickly and dramatically improved the living standards of the Germany's rural population.

Under the National Socialist Government, every factory employee had the legal right to paid vacation. (How many real factories are left in America?) Previously, paid vacations had not normally exceeded four or five days, and nearly half of the younger workers had no vacation time at all. In practice, National Socialism favored younger workers; the youngest workers received more generous vacations. This was humane and made sense, a young person has more need of rest and fresh air to develop his maturing strength and vigor. Thus, they enjoyed a full 18 days of paid vacation per year

The National Socialist Government introduced the FIRST standard forty-hour work week in Europe. Overtime work was compensated as nowhere else in the continent at the time, at an increased pay rate. And with the eight-hour work day now the norm, overtime work became more readily available.

Work breaks were made longer, another innovation of the time, two hours each day, allowing greater opportunity for workers to relax, and to make use of the playing fields that large industries were now required to provide.

A worker's right to job security had been non-existent previously, under the National Socialist Government; an employee could no longer be dismissed at the sole discretion of the employer. The National Socialist Government assured that workers' rights were spelled out and enforced. Accordingly, an employer had to give four weeks notice before firing an employee, who then had up to two months to appeal the dismissal. Dismissals could also be annulled by the "Courts of Social Honor" (Ehrengerichte).

By the end of 1933, the first effects of the National Socialist Political Revolution in the workplace were being felt. Germany had already come a long way from the time when filthy bathrooms and squalid courtyards were the sole sanitary and recreational facilities available to workers.

Large and small factories and shops were ordered to conform to the strictest standards of cleanliness and hygiene; interiors, so often dark and stifling, were opened up to light; playing fields were constructed; rest areas where workers could unbend during break, were set aside; employee cafeterias and respectable locker rooms were opened. The larger industrial establishments, in addition to providing the normally required conventional sports facilities, were obliged to put in swimming pools. In just three years, these achievements would reach unimagined heights: more than two thousand factories refitted and beautified; 23,000 work premises modernized; 800 buildings designed exclusively for meetings; 1,200 playing fields; 13,000 sanitary facilities; 17,000 cafeterias.

To provide affordable vacations for German workers on a hitherto unprecedented scale. The National Socialist Government established the "Strength through Joy Program (KDF). As a result, hundreds of thousands of workers were now able to make relaxing vacation trips on land and sea each summer. Magnificent cruise ships were built, and special trains brought vacationers to the mountains and the seashore.

The National Socialist Government created the National Labor Service not only to alleviate unemployment, but to bring together, in equality, and in the same uniform, both the sons of millionaires and the sons of the poor families for several months in common labor and living. All performed the same work, all were subject to the same discipline; they enjoyed the same pleasures and benefited from the same physical and moral development. At the same construction sites and in the same barracks, Germans became conscious of what they had in common, grew to understand one another, and discarded their old prejudices of class and caste.

After a term in the National Labor Service, a young worker knew that the rich man's son was not a pampered monster, while the young lad of wealthy family knew that the worker's son had no less honor than a nobleman or an heir to riches; they had lived and worked together as comrades. Social hatred was vanishing, and a socially united people were being born.

To enable the German public to express its opinion on the occasion of important events of social, national, or international significance, the National Socialist Government provided the people a new means of approving or rejecting the government's policies: the plebiscite. America does not have Initiative or Referendum at the federal level to check corrupt practices of the federal government. American's should be able to vote on THEIR national issues such as income taxes, health care, and term limits for federal offices.

The articles of the "Plebiscite Law" were brief and clear:

The Reich government may ask the people whether or not it approves of a measure planned by or taken by the government. This may also apply to a law. A measure submitted to plebiscite will be considered as established when it receives a simple majority of the votes. This will apply as well to a law modifying the Constitution. If the people approve the measure in question, it will be applied in conformity with article III of the Law for Overcoming the Distress of the People and the Reich. The Reich Interior Ministry is authorized to take all legal and administrative measures necessary to carry out this law. - Berlin, July 14, 1933.

The ballot was secret, and the voter was not constrained. No one could have prevented a German from voting no if he wished.

In fact, a certain number did vote no in every plebiscite. Millions of others could just as easily have done the same. The percentage of "No" votes remained extremely low, usually under ten percent. In the Saar region, where the plebiscite of January 1935 was supervised from start to finish by the Allies, the result was the same as in the rest of Germany, more than 90 percent voted "Yes" to unification with National Socialist Germany.

National Socialists had no fear of such secret ballots plebiscites because the German people invariably and consistently supported the National Socialist Government from 1933 to 1945, interestingly, the German people have not been allowed to legally vote for National Socialists as the Party was "banned" by the Allied Control Council and has remained banned by the "German Government" set up by the Allied Control Council since 1948, even though it calls itself a "democracy". In America today, our Democracy is confined to just two so called "major" plutocratic parties that are entrenched by special and foreign interests. Our elections are a fraud as new Parties and candidates not affiliated with so called "major parties are not allowed full participation in the American "democracy" by way of so called ballot access laws that essentially provide a monopoly for the two major parties. America today is a Soviet Union of the two major Parties a hypocrite of democracy that allows parasites to feed on its people and has become what Weimar Germany was in the 1920's. The question is what true Americans will choose to do about it, given the tools available to them.

In the United States, any citizen 18 years or more can vote, but a majority large of people do not register to vote, and a large percentage of those registered those who are registered, do not bother to vote. The United States of America, the beacon of Democracy for the world ranks 114th in voter turnout in all elections from 1945-1998, compared with other democracies world wide.
Perhaps if Americans were free to choose to be in the Political Party of their choice that could participate in the political process, participation would be higher. Sadly, the two plutocratic political parties have locked other political parties out of the process by way of Ballot Access Laws such as:
• It takes 675,000 petition signatures for an independent or minor party presidential candidate to get on the ballot in all 50 states, 26 times the number needed by a Democratic presidential candidate.
• Requirements for a minor party candidate to get on the ballot increased tenfold from 1930 to 1980, the U.S. population increased only two times.
• Discriminatory filing fees hits only independent or minor party candidates, Didn't the U.S. Supreme Court outlaw Poll taxes?
Sky-high signature requirements exist in many states. Examples: California -- 140,149 (in 15 weeks); Oklahoma -- 58,552; Maryland -- 69,500; North Carolina -- 43,601, which are far higher than those of Democrat and Republican requirements.

All of these are barriers to ballot access. They consume the limited resources of alternative parties and independents and leave them with little with which to carry on effective communication with the voting public.
When independents and third parties do manage to get on the ballot, the major media studiously ignores them. There are no "Meet the Press" or "Face the Nation" network shows for these candidates.
Few alternative parties have access to the massive funds, private or public, to enable them to buy time in the electronic media or space in print publications to state their case to the voters. Thus, they may get on the ballot in some states, but they can't get a broad hearing to advance their views.

Deficits May Alter U.S. Politics and Global Power

WASHINGTON - In a federal budget filled with mind-boggling statistics, two numbers stand out as particularly stunning, for the way they may change American politics and American power.

The first is the projected deficit in the coming year, nearly 11 percent of the country's entire economic output. That is not unprecedented: During the Civil War, World War I and World War II, the United States ran soaring deficits, but usually with the expectation that they would come back down once peace was restored and war spending abated.

But the second number, buried deeper in the budget's projections, is the one that really commands attention: By President Obama's own optimistic projections, American deficits will not return to what are widely considered sustainable levels over the next 10 years. In fact, in 2019 and 2020 - years after Mr. Obama has left the political scene, even if he serves two terms - they start rising again sharply, to more than 5 percent of gross domestic product. His budget draws a picture of a nation that like many American homeowners simply cannot get above water.

For Mr. Obama and his successors, the effect of those projections is clear: Unless miraculous growth, or miraculous political compromises, creates some unforeseen change over the next decade, there is virtually no room for new domestic initiatives for Mr. Obama or his successors. Beyond that lies the possibility that the United States could begin to suffer the same disease that has afflicted Japan over the past decade. As debt grew more rapidly than income, that country's influence around the world eroded.

Or, as Mr. Obama's chief economic adviser, Lawrence H. Summers, used to ask before he entered government a year ago, "How long can the world's biggest borrower remain the world's biggest power?"

The Chinese leadership, which is lending much of the money to finance the American government's spending, and which asked pointed questions about Mr. Obama's budget when members visited Washington last summer, says it thinks the long-term answer to Mr. Summers's question is self-evident. The Europeans will also tell you that this is a big worry about the next decade.

Mr. Obama himself hinted at his own concern when he announced in early December that he planned to send 30,000 American troops to Afghanistan, but insisted that the United States could not afford to stay for long.

"Our prosperity provides a foundation for our power," he told cadets at West Point. "It pays for our military. It underwrites our diplomacy. It taps the potential of our people, and allows investment in new industry."

And then he explained why even a "war of necessity," as he called Afghanistan last summer, could not last for long.

"That's why our troop commitment in Afghanistan cannot be open-ended," he said then, "because the nation that I'm most interested in building is our own."

Mr. Obama's budget deserves credit for its candor. It does not sugarcoat, at least excessively, the potential magnitude of the problem. President George W. Bush kept claiming, until near the end of his presidency, that he would leave office with a balanced budget. He never got close; in fact, the deficits soared in his last years.

Mr. Obama has published the 10-year numbers in part, it seems, to make the point that the political gridlock of the past few years, in which most Republicans refuse to talk about tax increases and Democrats refuse to talk about cutting entitlement programs, is unsustainable. His prescription is that the problem has to be made worse, with intense deficit spending to lower the unemployment rate, before the deficits can come down.

Mr. Summers, in an interview on Monday afternoon, said, "The budget recognizes the imperatives of job creation and growth in the short run, and takes significant measures to increase confidence in the medium term."

He was referring to the freeze on domestic, non-national-security-related spending, the troubled effort to cut health care costs, and the decision to let expire Bush-era tax cuts for corporations and families earning more than $250,000.

But Mr. Summers said that "through the budget and fiscal commission, the president has sought to provide maximum room for making further adjustments as necessary before any kind of crisis arrives."

Turning that thought into political action, however, has proved harder and harder for the Washington establishment. Republicans stayed largely silent about the debt during the Bush years. Democrats have described it as a necessary evil during the economic crisis that defined Mr. Obama's first year. Interest in a long-term solution seems limited. Or, as Isabel V. Sawhill of the Brookings Institution put it Monday on MSNBC, "The problem here is not honesty, but political will."

One source of that absence of will is that the political warnings are contradicted by the market signals. The Treasury has borrowed money to finance the government's deficits at remarkably low rates, the strongest indicator that the markets believe they will be paid back on time and in full.

The absence of political will is also facilitated by the fact that, as Prof. James K. Galbraith of the University of Texas puts it, "Forecasts 10 years out have no credibility."

He is right. In the early years of the Clinton administration, government projections indicated huge deficits - over the "sustainable" level of 3 percent - by 2000. But by then, Mr. Clinton was running a modest surplus of about $200 billion, a point Mr. Obama made Monday as he tried anew to remind the country that the moment was squandered when "the previous administration and previous Congresses created an expensive new drug program, passed massive tax cuts for the wealthy, and funded two wars without paying for any of it."

But with this budget, Mr. Obama now owns this deficit. And as Mr. Galbraith pointed out, it is possible that the gloomy projections for 2020 are equally flawed.

Simply projecting that health care costs will rise unabated is dangerous business.

"Much may depend on whether we put in place the financial reforms that can rebuild a functional financial system," Mr. Galbraith said, to finance growth in the private sector - the kind of growth that ultimately saved Mr. Clinton from his own deficit projections.

His greatest hope, Mr. Galbraith said, was Stein's law, named for Herbert Stein, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers under Presidents Richard M. Nixon and Gerald R. Ford.

Stein's law has been recited in many different versions. But all have a common theme: If a trend cannot continue, it will stop.

With desperate Georgians begging for American help in closing down the key route through which Russian soldiers were pouring into the country, Bush's national security aides outlined possible responses, including "the bombardment and sealing of the Roki Tunnel" and other "surgical strikes," according to a new history of the conflict and independent interviews with former senior officials.
"In that moment of desperation these issues came onto the table, and came to the principals committee" consisting of Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and top Cabinet members, said Ron Asmus, a Clinton administration State Department official whose book, out this week, is called "The Little War That Shook the World."
"There were people on [Vice President Dick] Cheney's staff and [National Security Adviser Stephen] Hadley's staff who said, ‘We can't let Georgia go down like this.'"
Hadley, Asmus writes, thought the action too risky - but he formally raised the question with Bush, Cheney and other top officials in a meeting on Aug. 11 in order to prompt an "open discussion" and put Cheney and others on the record.
"No principal advocated the use of force," said Asmus, who is now executive director of the Transatlantic Center in Brussels.
Hadley, in an interview, declined to comment directly on the substance of conversations among the principals but confirmed that there had been consideration - and dismissal - of the use of force.
"There was a discussion of, ‘Should we consider military action to achieve our objectives?' and the view was that that was not an attractive option," he said. "It was a long way away, and it would be a direct military confrontation with Russia."
That the question arose at all is a mark of the scale of the crisis that appeared to burst out of nowhere in the summer of 2008 and of the continuing risks posed by a region of the world that draws little American public attention.
U.S. intelligence resources, Asmus reports, had largely been shifted away from the Caucasus, and despite rumblings from Russia, the U.S. was taken by surprise by the timing of what began, in Asmus's telling, as a series of Russian provocations and escalated when Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili took the proffered bait, engaging separatist forces and then Russian soldiers who were nominally there as "peacekeepers."
That triggered a massive Russian response, one that Georgians were essentially unable to resist once soldiers began pouring through the tunnel, the easiest pass through the Caucasus mountains.
Senior American aides involved in discussions at the time recall a frantic atmosphere in which - despite pleas from Saakashvili and other top Georgian officials, who seemed at times to expect American military aid, though there's no evidence they were promised it - the limits of U.S. action became clear.
"As we played out these strands and talked about it, we had to be prepared for direct confrontation with Russian military forces - and was that something we were prepared to recommend to the president?" recalled Damon Wilson, the former senior director for European affairs at the National Security Council. "We came to the right decision, but it was an emotionally difficult decision."
Joe Wood, the deputy assistant for national security affairs to the hawkish Cheney, was in Georgia shortly before the war broke out, but in the end he didn't advocate bombing the tunnel. He said he's still unsure "whether or not it should have been more seriously considered.

A new trend is developing in which (FINALLY) SOME ACADEMICS ARE BEGINNING TO REFRAIN FROM BEING SEDUCED BY THE SUFFERING OF THE JEWS.....

In "Talking with Jews (or not)", by Dr. Kevin MacDonald, professor of psychology at California State University - Long Beach, California says the following:

"A topic that is not discussed enough is the screaming, in-your-face, hostile aggression that people must withstand when they dare to trample on Jewish sensibilities.  I am not talking about the sophisticated rationalization one sees in the op-ed pages of the mainstream media, or even the smear techniques of organizations like the ADL or the SPLC.  We are talking about interpersonal aggression.  There is something absolutely primal about it."

There is a refreshingly frank blog post by Professor Karin Friedemann, an ethnically Jewish anti-Zionist.  She writes of the "violent intolerance" that defenders of Israel show towards people with different opinions:

"American Jews are actually being trained since childhood to interact with non-Jews in a deceitful and arrogant manner, in coordination with each other, to emotionally destroy Gentiles and Israel critics in addition to wrecking their careers and interfering with their social relationships.  This is actually deliberate, wicked, planned behavior motivated by a narcissistic self-righteous fury....

The problem is that Gentiles are taught through emotional pressure and violence via the media and the school system to be very sensitive to Jewish suffering so when a Zionist becomes outraged at them for challenging their world view, the Gentile really has to fight against his own inner self in a huge battle against his "inner Jew" making him feel inadequate and intimidated.  But the Jew doesn't care how much he or she hurts others.  Jews only care about what's good for the Jews. ...

I once reduced a 50 year old man to hysterical sobbing tears because I told him gently and lovingly that Jews were not that unique.  I just told him the Jews, like everyone else, have had good times and bad times.  Times when they were slaughtered and other times when they slaughtered others.  Just like everyone else.  Guess what he did next.  He emotionally abused me in an insulting way and then cut off all further communication.  Jewish behavior is so predictable that it's truly scary. ...

If you mention cutting off the money or if you mention the possible compromise of living with Palestinians as equals in one state they become very angry and start using bullying tactics, unless they have some reason to fear you, in which case they shun you and complain about you to the authorities, try to get you arrested or try and destroy your career or social status through character assassination. ...

Zionists all believe in the myth of "1000 years of Jewish suffering" and feel that the world owes them compensation for their ancestors' "unique" suffering.  It's a criminally insane viewpoint. They cope with the contradictions between their belief that they are the good guys and what Jews are actually doing to their neighbors, both in the Middle East and in the US, by developing mental health issues.  Most Zionists are functional schizophrenics.

Karin Friedemann's response:

Such tactics are not restricted to critics of Zionism.  As one who has experienced a barrage of hostile email from my faculty colleagues, I can certainly attest to this.  A correspondent sent me the following recently:

I have encountered many liberal, politically correct Jews who react vociferously (almost violently) to the most innocuous comments about any topic related to Israel or Jews.  One Jew upon my mentioning that my wife and I had been to Russia spent several minutes virtually frothing at the mouth about Russians.  Another upon hearing me say I was sympathetic to the problems of the Palestinians demanded to know who I was and how dare I say such a thing.  Often zero tolerance for any difference in opinion.

- The media constantly present images of Jewish suffering-most recently the endless glut of Holocaust movies.  But the media ignore instances, such as the early decades of the USSR and now in Greater Israel, where Jews have inflicted horrible suffering.  Right now I am reading E. Michael Jones' The Jewish Revolutionary Spirit and Its Effect on History.  It is striking to read his account of Jewish violence against non-Jews in the ancient world, particularly the persecution of Christians whenever Jews had the power to do so.  Long before Christians had any influence on Roman policy, Christians' complaints about Jews were not stereotypes based on historical memory but resulted from direct experience with Jews:  "Origen understood that Jewish calumny helped to cause Christian persecution, and that Jewish hatred was a fact of life for the Christians, continuing unabated after the repeated defeats of Messianic politics" (i.e., the defeats of Jewish rebels at the hands of the Romans in 70 and 135 ad) (p. 69). This is the basis of my concern on what will happen to whites when Jews become part of a hostile elite in white-minority America.

- Non-Jews absorb these media images and as a result feel inadequate, emotionally intimidated. Eventually they identify with the aggressor, much like a browbeaten hostage or, as Friedemann suggests, an abused spouse.  Or they maintain their friendships but studiously avoid talking about anything related to Israel.  Non-Jews do the bidding of their "inner Jew" because they have internalized images of Jewish suffering.  They therefore aid and abet Jewish brutality and aggression.

- Non-Jews who persist in criticizing the organized Jewish community are threatened with loss of livelihood and social ostracism.  As I noted in a previous article the organized Jewish community does not believe in free speech.  It is important to keep in mind that when Jews were dominant in the first decades of the Soviet Union, the government controlled the media, anti-Semitism was outlawed, and there was mass murder of Christians and the destruction of Christian churches and religious institutions.

As Friedemann notes, the situation is nothing less than a sign of serious mental health issues for the mainstream Jewish community: "Most Zionists are functional schizophrenics."

I think this is what happens when people who deal with Jewish issues finally realize that there is no hope for dialogue and begin to think of what to do next.  Honest people finally realize that when it comes to critical issues like Israel and multicultural America, the divisions among Jews are an illusion. (Friedemann herself has renounced her Jewish identity.)  As Friedemann's husband, Joachim Martillo, notes, "Jews, who want to be decent human beings, have no choice but to renounce being Jewish and serve the anti-Zionist struggle (right now)."

Exhibit A for this right now is the murderous Israeli invasion of Gaza.  We know (see, for example, John Mearsheimer's article in The American Conservative) that this invasion occurred after a prolonged period when Israel restricted supplies into Gaza and then attacked tunnels between Gaza and Egypt.  We know that the invasion was designed to "to inflict massive pain on the Palestinians so that they come to accept the fact that they are a defeated people and that Israel will be largely responsible for controlling their future."

The tone of Mearsheimer's article suggests a dramatic shift in attitude where the usual inhibitions on public discourse are finally beginning to fall, even for a respected academic:

There is ... little chance that people around the world who follow the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will soon forget the appalling punishment that Israel is meting out in Gaza. ... [D]iscourse about this longstanding conflict has undergone a sea change in the West in recent years, and many of us who were once wholly sympathetic to Israel now see that the Israelis are the victimizers and the Palestinians are the victims.

The gloves are coming off.  This is what happens when smart and honest people who work hard to get the scholarship right are nevertheless smeared as anti-Semites guilty of the vilest misdeeds.  Not surprisingly, Abe Foxman - a premier defender of the racial Zionist status quo in Israel - devoted an entire book to smearing Mearsheimer and Walt.  Quite simply, there is no point to talking to such people or taking seriously what they say about us.

We know that the government of Israel is firmly in the hands of the racial Zionists - followers of Vladimir Jabotinsky and his view of the racial distinctiveness and superiority of the Jewish people.  Indeed, the only question in the Israeli election is which brand of racial Zionism will form the next government.  One knows that racial Zionism has completely won the day in Israel when Kadima - the party of Ariel Sharon, Ehud Olmert, Tzipi Livni and the Gaza invasion - is now described by Benjamin Netanyahu as the party of the left.  (The LA Times dutifully calls it "centrist" but, as Israeli peace activist Uri Avnery writes, Livni "cries to high heaven against any dialogue with Hamas.  She objects to a mutually agreed cease-fire.  She tries to compete with Netanyahu and [Avignor] Liberman with unbridled nationalist messages.") Indeed, Netanyahu's only worry is that the openly racist Liberman - a disciple of the notorious Meir Kehane - will take away too many votes from Likud.

The situation is analogous to a US election where Pat Buchanan is the candidate of the far left. (I can dream.)

Avnery analogizes the election to a joke where a sergeant tells his men: "I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that you are going to change your dirty socks.  The bad news is that you are going to exchange them among yourselves."

Once again we see at work the general principle that within the Jewish community, the most extreme elements carry the day and pull the rest of the Jewish community with them.  As I noted in "Zionism and the Internal Dynamics of Judaism," "over time, the more militant, expansionist Zionists (the Jabotinskyists, the Likud Party, fundamentalists, and West Bank settlers) have won the day and have continued to push for territorial expansion within Israel.  This has led to conflicts with Palestinians and a widespread belief among Jews that Israel itself is threatened.  The result has been a heightened group consciousness among Jews and ultimately support for Zionist extremism among the entire organized American Jewish community."

The fanatics keep pushing the envelop, forcing other Jews to either go along with their agenda or cease being part of the Jewish community.  Ominously, if elected, Netanyahu promises that a top priority will be "harnessing the U.S. administration to stop the threat" of Iran's nuclear program.

Incidentally, E. Michael Jones (The Jewish Revolutionary Spirit and Its Effect on History, p. 42ff) has expanded this argument to the ancient world.  He shows how the Jewish community was pulled in the direction of fanaticism by the Zealots who expelled the followers of Jesus from the synagogue and adopted a disastrous path of revolution against Rome, leading ultimately to the defeats of 70 and 135 a.d.

A good example of the schizophrenia described by Friedemann comes from the fact that around 80% of American Jews voted for Obama but around the same percentage blames Hamas for the escalation of violence and believes that the Israeli response was "appropriate."

These results of the poll on the Gaza invasion were proudly announced by Abraham Foxman of the ADL, an organization that is one of the principal forces in promoting a post-European America. The Jewish left is a pillar of multi-cultural America but strongly supports racial Zionism in Israel.

This same schizophrenia was on display at a recent presentation at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles by Chris Hedges and Mark Potok - he of the Southern Poverty Law Center.  The program dealt with the usual bogey-men of the organized Jewish community: Christian fundamentalists, skinheads, David Duke, and (I am gratified to report) The Occidental Quarterly.  In a comment on the alliance between Christian conservatives and Zionists, an audience member mentioned (to stifled applause) that "There are Jewish fascists."  But the moderator, Ian Masters, saved the day when he stated that "the vast majority of American Jews are secular and liberal" - a comment that brought much applause, presumably because it reassured the many Jews in the audience that they weren't like THOSE Jews.  For his part, Potok, that stalwart warrior against white America, expressed his support for what he sees as a beleaguered Israel on the verge of apocalypse at the hands of the Arabs. Schizophrenia indeed.

The politicians who are running Israel are, if anything, more racialist and nationalist than anything even remotely on the horizon in American or European politics.  As Avnery notes:

In every other country, Liberman's program would be called fascist, without quotation marks.  Nowhere in the Western world is there a large party that would dare to advance such a demand [to annul the citizenship of Arabs].  The neo-fascists in Switzerland and Holland want to expel foreigners, not to annul the citizenship of the native-born. ...

When Joerg Haider was taken into the Austrian cabinet, Israel recalled its ambassador from Vienna in protest.  But compared to Liberman, Haider was a raving liberal, and so is Jean-Marie le Pen.  Now Netanyahu has announced that Liberman will be "an important minister" in his government, Livni has hinted that he will be in her government, too, and Barak has not excluded that possibility.

The optimistic version says that Liberman will prove to be a passing curiosity. ... There is also a pessimistic version: Fascism has become a serious player in the Israeli public domain.  The three main parties have now legitimized it.  This phenomenon must be stopped before it is too late.

So I have a suggestion for the Foxmans, the Potoks, the neoconservatives, and the secular Jewish liberals of the world: If you want to fight racism and ethnic nationalism, start in your own backyard.  And my suggestion for the rest of us is to get rid of what Friedemann calls the "inner Jew." I know it's hard to do.  But once you tune out the screaming hostility (and assuming you don't fear losing your job), it's easy.  Just don't expect a pleasant or rational conversation."
